Politics in IPL
January 20, 2010
Pakistan India rivalry has old history and it is happened much time that politics involve in the games. Cricket is the famous game of old British colonies, There is craze of cricket in Pakistan and India. People love and like cricket with allot passion. Pakistan Indian cricket is take as battle field, there game not only enjoyed by the people of both states but also all around the world. Games are used to normalize the relation between two states but it’s contradictory in Pak Indian case. The relation of both countries is affected on the game, matches terminated, people agitate on the win or lose and violence came in the game at different time. Pakistan Indian relation turned into too harsh period after Bombay attack and simultaneously the cricket is affected too. An unfortunate incident has taken place in Indian premier League third player’s auction. No single Pakistani cricketer has been included in the IPL although there are many great names of 20-20 like the boom boom Afridi. It is not good for cricket and the relations of the both countries too.
It is great opportunity to normalize the relation through cricket that missed by double standards of Indian cricket board. Eight franchises were bought ten foreign and one Indian cricket not on basis of their performance but nationality. All franchisees used discrete strategies to pick up the players that formed a tactical well for the the playing squads. The highlight of the auction though was the use of a tie-breaker which was used twice to break the deadlock for two debutants namely Keiron Pollard and Shane Bond. They were the costliest players in this auction bought for 750,000 dollars each.
IPL will start after 6 or 7 months but the recent politics in IPL turn down the aspiration and expectation of the cricketer lover. They want to see healthy cricket and players in full action. With this move the charm of the IPL will reduce and further spoil the relation of the neighboring states.
Got something to say?
